The Senior Payroll Analyst is an accomplished professional with proven HRIS/payroll systems knowledge and solid business acumen. They will assist with maintaining a strong control environment within the payroll department of the company.

Key areas of responsibility include knowledge of HRIS system and available technologies, enhancement and automation of procedures, and clear communication of payroll processing issues and announcements with HRIS users. This position works closely with other departments to ensure policies/procedures are followed, and payroll is processed accurately and timely while following state laws and compliance. As a growing company, this position's success is contingent upon the person being productive and proactive in a dynamic environment where priorities are determined by business opportunities.


  • Perform all activities necessary to process accurate and timely payroll for 7000+ employees across multiple states using Ceridian Dayforce
  • Process off cycle payrolls, manual payments, and tax adjustments as needed
  • Review and enter garnishment withholdings into HRIS system
  • Research and resolve issues brought forth by employees and/or managers relating to pay
  • Assist with Payroll journal entries made to the General Ledger
  • Stay up to date on changes in Federal and State requirements and ensure that changes are properly implemented in HRIS system
  • Assist with system testing for routine HRIS system updates and upgrades
  • Assist in developing and transforming processes to meet changing needs and transactional volumes
  • Payroll reporting and compliance; assist with various state payroll tax audits
  • Key team member to lead the implementation of acquired businesses into the payroll function
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Proactively maintain and enhance HRIS system knowledge
  • Coordinate with school operations in a multi-unit environment and Human Resources to ensure timely, efficient resolution of issues
  • Other duties as needed


  • BS in Business related degree
  • 3-5 years of Payroll processing experience
  • Multi-unit/multi-state payroll experience
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and time management skills
  • Experience in a rapidly growing and changing organization
  • Excellent customer service and written communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong appreciation for procedure, process and operational excellence
  • Ability to keep several activities moving forward at the same time
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of HRIS/Payroll systems and strong proficiency in Word and Excel
